Kate And William’s Valentine’s Day Post Showcases Their Strong Bond

Kate Middleton and Prince William are embracing the love this Valentine’s Day!
On Friday, February 14, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a rare, romantic moment on social media with a photo of the two exchanging a sweet PDA. The post featured a single red love heart emoji and was originally shared in September 2024 as part of an emotional video celebrating Kate’s successful completion of chemotherapy following her cancer diagnosis earlier that year.
The adorable photo captures the couple holding hands, with Prince William, 42, kissing Kate, 43, on the cheek as she laughs. The picture appears to have been taken in a peaceful wooded area, with the couple sitting on a brown picnic blanket.
The three-minute video that first revealed the photo was filmed in Norfolk at Anmer Hall, their country residence, where they live with their three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
Over the past year, Kate and William have become more open with their affection on social media. In June 2024, Kate shared a heartfelt birthday message for William, writing, "We all love you so much!" A few months later, for Kate’s 43rd birthday in January 2025, William posted his own message: "To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis, and I are so proud of you… We love you."
Royal biographer Ingrid Seward told, “William must feel so fortunate that Kate has come through this that he wants to tell the world about that love. It shows the intimacy of them sharing that journey together.”
Their recent public displays of affection mark a shift from their more reserved demeanor in the past, with royal etiquette expert Myka Meier explaining that there’s no official protocol against PDA, though it’s often avoided as a reflection of their roles as working members of the British monarchy.
The royal couple’s bond has only strengthened over the past year, with a source close to the family saying they are now "more open" and regularly talk about their relationship. "For the princess, family—her husband and children—are more important than anything else," the insider added.
Having been together for over 20 years, Kate and William married in April 2011 after William proposed during a vacation in Kenya. They shared their engagement news with the public in November 2010.
