Princess Sofia Introduces Baby Princess Ines In Heartwarming Family Photo

Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden are proud parents of a "perfect little quartet."
On February 7, the royal couple welcomed their fourth child and first daughter, Princess Ines. Just a few days later, they shared the first photo of all four of their children together. The Instagram post, shared on February 12, shows baby Princess Ines being gently held by her three older brothers — Prince Alexander, 8, Prince Gabriel, 7, and Prince Julian, 3. A second photo captures Prince Julian planting a sweet kiss on his little sister’s forehead, while Ines’ eyes are wide open.
The couple expressed their joy in the caption: “It turned out to be a perfect little quartet. Big and warm thanks for all the wonderful congratulations to our little Ines.”
On February 10, during a Council of State at the Royal Palace, King Carl XVI Gustaf revealed Princess Ines' full name — Princess Ines Marie Lilian Silvia. That same day, members of the royal family, including King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, and Princess Madeleine, attended a thanksgiving service in honor of the new princess. While Princess Sofia and Princess Ines were not present, Prince Carl Philip attended with his three sons.
Princess Ines made her debut in a photo shared on Instagram on February 10. Taken by her mother, Sofia, the image shows the little royal peacefully asleep under a blanket in a white and pink outfit.
Earlier, Princess Sofia shared her excitement about expanding her family, in December that having a family was one of her biggest dreams in life. "I always, always, always dreamt of a family," she said. “It’s one of my biggest goals in life. Not everyone has that — I had that.”
She added, "Both my husband and I come from families of five, with three kids, so we thought that would be a good number. But, gratefully, there’s a bonus on the way. We feel very humble and excited, especially the kids."
In other royal news, Princess Beatrice of the British royal family also welcomed a new baby. On January 22, Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi announced the birth of their second daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born at 12:57 p.m., weighing 4 pounds and 5 ounces. The royal family expressed their joy and said both mother and baby are doing well and enjoying time together with Athena’s older siblings, Wolfie and Sienna.
